Since its founding in 1992, Groupe Milima (GM) has remained steadfast in its commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable populations living in conflict-affected regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo. With over thirty years of deep-rooted experience in the Kivu region, GM has evolved into a vital pillar of support for communities facing unprecedented humanitarian challenges.
Our Core Areas of Impact
Operating under official government recognition (Ministerial Order No. 704/CAB/MIN/J&DH/2011), GM specializes in delivering critical humanitarian aid where it is needed most. Our primary areas of intervention include:
- WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene): Ensuring access to safe drinking water and promoting hygiene to prevent disease outbreaks in fragile environments.
- Non-Food Items (NFIs): Distributing essential survival goods to displaced families and individuals who have lost everything.
- Protection: Safeguarding the rights and well-being of the most vulnerable, particularly women and children caught in conflict zones.
Bridging Emergency Relief and Long-Term Development
Crisis response is only the first step. At Groupe Milima, we believe in a holistic approach that bridges immediate emergency relief with sustainable, long-term development. By equipping affected communities with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need, our programs aim to foster genuine resilience and self-sufficiency.
Collaboration is Key
None of this would be possible without strong partnerships. GM works in close collaboration with local authorities, international organizations, and the very communities we serve. This inclusive approach ensures that our humanitarian programs are tailored to the real, evolving needs of the population.
As we look to the future, Groupe Milima remains dedicated to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the people of Kivu, turning hope into action and building a safer, more resilient tomorrow.
